‘T is the season…
Beautiful glittering lights and Christmas trees on every corner. Amsterdam is a unique destination, especially during the most wonderful time of the year!
Our Les Clefs d’Or concierges are your personal guide to point you in the right direction to discover the best our city has to offer in this last month of the year. From local favorites to must-do activities, #TheDylanSuggests the following:
The Amsterdam Light Festival is a classic, bringing the most unique luminous creations to the canal belt. For a truly serene experience, our concierges suggest to rise early. Let us arrange a private canal cruise, enjoy a floating breakfast and be enchanted by the serenity of an almost empty Amsterdam. Adore the light installations as if they’ve been lit exclusively for you…
Discover a special winter edition of Pure Market on 18 December at Park Frankendael. Meet various local culi-entrepreneurs who’ll bring the best they have to offer. They’ll tell you about their craftsmanship and offer plenty of deliciousness to yourself…
Hortus Botanicus is a beautiful treasure in the middle of the city, it’s one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. They festooned the botanic gardens with thousands of glittering lights. Get your thick sweater on and enjoy hot chocolate and glühwein at the winter terrace of the Oranjerie, next to the campfire.
One of the most famous squares of Amsterdam, the Museum Square, offers a truly Dutch activity: ice skating. Ice*Amsterdam also offers a cosy Christmas market for the perfect festive feeling. In the mood for a party? How about a silent disco on ice? Spectacular views over the Rijksmuseum are included in the ticket price.
Every year, the square in front of the RAI exhibition centre transfers into a winter wonderland. Christmas markets, ice skating, a Ferris wheel, après-ski, and much more festiveness make this certainly worth a visit!
